"Hoppy" 5 months Fisher and Davis!

Dear Davis and Fisher,
I can't believe you are already 5 months old. It seems like yesterday that we were headed to the hospital awaiting your arrival. Our lives have changed so much since then, but I can't imagine it any other way. You bring so much joy and happiness to my life. I love you as much as the whole wide world!
Love,
Mommy

When we grow up...

We want to be just like our Daddy!

Something New Every Day

This is how I found Fisher when I went in to get him this morning. He is rolling over from his back to his stomach really well now.

Davis has discovered his feet and he loves holding onto them.

Fisher tries to sit up in his bouncy seat. It won't be long before he's sitting up all by himself.
Apples

We started fruits this weekend and I felt sure they would love them since they're sweet, but Fisher made the funniest faces as he ate them. I think Davis liked them though. Fisher still ate all of his. So far there hasn't been anything they wouldn't eat. I hope that continues!

We love you Daddy!

All Smiles

We had a great weekend! It was very relaxing. We did a few household things, but mostly we spent time with the boys which is our favorite thing to do. I got some really good pictures of them smiling and laughing. We hope your weekend was as good as ours!

Tommy and Jackson's 30th Birthday Party

Katherine and Lesley threw Tommy and Jackson a surprise birthday party on Friday night. Evan and I went to celebrate with them for a little while. We had such a good time. My mom and dad kept the boys so we could go. It was the first date night we've had in a long time. Thanks for the invite! We had so much fun!

**I'm so bummed. I took some pictures, but for some reason they're not loading onto the computer. If I can get them to work, I'll post them.

Davis and Fisher's Baptism

Fisher and Davis were baptized last Sunday. They did great during the service! Neither one of them made a peep. The week before a family had their twin girls baptized and they wailed the entire time. I was thankful that Davis and Fisher didn't do that, but I knew if they did it couldn't be any worse.

They wore white smocked bubbles with pleats down the front. I originally bought baptism gowns for them, but Fisher's was too small. I bought them back in the spring and tried to guess what size they'd be in. Evan was thrilled when he found out they didn't fit. He wasn't to keen on the boys wearing gowns or dresses as he called them.

After church everyone came to our house for lunch. We had a great time. Thank you for coming and sharing this special day with us. We really appreciate all of you coming, especially those that had to travel.

I took a lot of pictures, but we didn't get that many of the boys in their outfits because we changed them as soon as we got home. They were eating carrots for lunch and I really didn't want orange stains all over their outfits. :-) Ireally wish we could have taken more family pictures at the church. I did take them on Friday to have professional pictures made in their outfits. We got some pretty good pictures although I learned that late afternoon is not the best time to take pictures. They got fussy pretty quickly, but at least we got some good shots.

Aren't they cute?

I just love these pictures of the boys. My heart melts every time I look at them.

Classic Picture

I was trying to take a picture of the boys together which is really hard to do (at least to get them both looking at the camera) and this is what I captured. What are the chances?

Meet and Greet

We have had some very special people come and visit us this past week. On Monday, one of my best friends from high school was in town from California on business and he came to see the boys. Evan ended up having to work late that day so he helped me start the nighttime routine. He would occupy one of the boys while I bathed one. Thanks Keon for all your help! We are so glad you came to visit and we can't wait until you come back again.

Notice the throw up on his shirt. Davis threw up on him right after he picked him up. I felt really bad for him. Thanks goodness he brought extra clothes. :-)

Fisher and Davis also got to meet a new cousin. My cousin Gina brought Ava Grace to meet the boys on Friday. Ava Grace was born in July so she's not much younger than Davis and Fisher. Her brother coaches football at one of the high schools in town so she was coming to see them play. Thanks so much for coming by! We really enjoyed it and are looking forward to more playdates!

Last Weekend

Yummy peas!

Fisher was concentrating really hard on one of the toys

I'm not sure what we did last weekend besides working around the house, but I know it went by way to fast. One of these days, we'll be completely unpacked and everything will have a spot. Thank goodness Evan and I are laid back when it comes to clutter because that's what we live in. But hey it works for us or at least for now it does.

The boys did start eating baby food last weekend and they really like it. We started them on peas and I thought for sure they wouldn't like them very much because it seems like a lot of babies don't like peas, but they do. :-) In fact we're about halfway through all of the vegetables and we haven't found one they don't like yet. Knock on wood...

4 month checkup

Davis and Fisher had their 4 month checkup last week. Everything went GREAT besides the shots. I felt so bad for them. The doctor called in 2 nurses so they could give the boys their shots at the same time. Both of them were laying on the table smiling so big at the nurses and then the shots started. It took several seconds for the pain to register and then they both started wailing. Davis' face was bright red and he couldn't catch his breath he was crying so hard. Obviously there's only one of me so I could only console one of the boys after their shots. They handed me Fisher and had another nurse try to console Davis. I felt so bad because I could not hold him. They both calmed down after a few minutes and I immediately gave them some Tylenol. Despite having the shots they did pretty well the rest of the afternoon and evening.

The doctor was really pleased with their growth. He said they were well on their way to catching up with non-preemie babies. They are now wearing 0-3months and even can wear a few 3-6 months. Fisher weighed 13.2 lbs. and Davis weighed 12.5 lbs.

Land's Shower

I went to Sumter last weekend for Allison's baby shower. It was so much fun and it was so good to see some of my college friends. We were talking at the shower and realized that we've been friends for over 10 years. Wow! How time flies... Anyways, I can't wait for Land to arrive! I'm hoping one of these days we can get all the kiddos together for a Wofford playdate.

Rice Cereal and Teething

The boys are now eating rice cereal twice a day and they start eating baby food this weekend. I can't believe they're already eating solids. They are growing up so fast! Davis was so tired that he fell asleep eating his rice cereal while in the Bumbo seat. I couldn't resist taking some pictures of it. He's snuggling with his lovie that Katherine gave him. He loves it! Thanks Katherine!

Fisher constantly chews on something. Whether it's his fist, fingers, paci, or a teething toy he constantly has something in his mouth. The only teethers we had were big teething rings and he wasn't able to hold on to and control something that big yet so we went and bought a bunch of smaller teething toys. Or at least the smallest ones we could find. Some of them are still a little big, but the beaver one in the picture he can kind of hold onto. His favorite thing to chew on is his hands though. So much for spending money on teethers. :-)

Labor Day 2008

Aunt Kelly and Uncle Michael came to visit us over Labor Day weekend. We had so much fun! Saturday night Jamie and Leanne came over too and we all pigged out on tailgating food and watched the Clemson/Alabama game. It was nice to watch it from the comfort of our home and still enjoy hanging out with friends, eating and partaking in a few beverages. On Sunday we relaxed with the boys and chilled out. My parents stopped by to see the boys for a little while on Sunday evening since my dad hadn't seen them in a few days. It was a GREAT weekend and it was soooooo nice not to have to go to work on Monday even if I did have to get up bright and early.
