Claire's Wedding

We attended Claire's wedding at the end of November. As you can see from the pictures, she looked absolutely beautiful and we had a blast at the reception. I am so happy for her because she deserves the best! Thanks for including us in your special day. We were honored to be a part of it!

Tribute to My Nana

My Nana's church had a tribute for all of the church members they had lost this past year. The preacher shared very sweet words about my Nana during the service and then we all had a covered dish lunch afterward. At the end of the lunch, there was a slideshow with pictures of her throughout her life. It was very touching and it meant a lot that the church would honor her in such a way. We also celebrated my granddaddy's birthday after the lunch. It was good for us all to get together.

Nene's Birthday

Evan's family came up in November to celebrate Nene's birthday. We had hamburgers, mac and cheese and brownie trifle for dessert. We had so much fun hanging out with everyone and I think she had a great birthday.

Uncle Jim's Birthday

We celebrated my brother's birthday at the beginning of November. We went out for a nice dinner at a wonderful Greek restaurant and then came home to open presents. They stayed for the whole weekend so it was really nice spending some time with them. As you can see from the pictures below, we tried to get a picture of Davis, Fisher and Alice, but no one would cooperate besides Alice. Maybe in a few years! :-)

Halloween

Halloween was interesting this year. I went through 4 costumes before I found one that they wouldn't start crying when they saw it. We finally ended up with a dinosaur and dragon costume, but we didn't go trick-or-treating. One because the boys wouldn't take a nap that day so by 5:00 they were done, two it was rainy, and three no one trick-or-treated in our neighborhood. There's not many kids that live here, but the ones that do must have gone to other places that night because we only had 2 people stop by and they didn't even live here. I think Davis and Fisher will be more excited about it next year. They still don't really understand the concept of dressing up for candy. :-)

Homecoming

We took the boys to Homecoming this year. We didn't partake in the night time festivities, but we went to the game on Saturday. We tailgated with Claire and her family and Courtney and Jimmy came with their kids too. It was so good to see everyone. The boys had a blast running around! We went to William's house after the game. We couldn't make it to the annual dinner that night due to the boys schedule so we went by for an afternoon visit instead.

Piano Time

I love this shot of the boys. They love playing the piano and it's rare that I get a photo of both of them at the same time.

Fun in the Sun

The boys absolutely love being outside. I know I've said this before, but I really think they would live outside if I would let them. Here's a few shots of them having fun in the sun this summer.

Family Wedding

Berry and Ginny got married in August and I went to the wedding. Evan stayed home with the boys so he wasn't able to partake in the fun. It was absolutely beautiful! A great time was had by all and it was nice to spend an evening with our family.

Green Thumb

Well sort of... I have always wanted to have a big garden so this year we planted one, but we started small. We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, and squash. The cucumbers did well, the squash died and the tomatoes did ok, but didn't come in until August. Hopefully next summer we will have more success.

First Day of School

Fisher and Davis are going to school 2 days a week this year. I wasn't able to get 2 days a week for both of them on the same days so they both go on Fridays and then they each go another day. So Fisher goes on Mondays, Davis on Thursdays and both on Fridays. It's not the most ideal, but it does give them a chance to interact with other kids without each other. I am hoping to get them in on the same days next year. I never realized how hard it is to get 2 spots in the same class. I had them on a waiting list for almost a year. Davis has loved school since the first day and Fisher now loves it. He was a little unsure at first, but now he walks right in and is excited to go. Here's a few pictures from their first day.
