Blizzard 2009

So it wasn't really a blizzard, but to us it kind of was because it never snows here. It started coming down on Sunday afternoon and continued to snow throughout the night. We went to my parents house for dinner on Sunday and headed home about 6:45. Thanks goodness for 4 wheel drive or I don't know if we would have made it out of their neighborhood. We ended up getting about 4 1/2 inches of snow and it was absolutely beautiful. Since it doesn't snow much, the boys didn't have proper snow attire so we bundled them up the best we could. Evan and I were both off work yesterday so we had a fun family day enjoying the snow and warming up by the fire. We made a snowman and as of today he's still standing, but it's supposed to be 70 on Friday so he probably won't be around that much longer. I hope you and your family enjoyed the blizzard! :-)

1. I have 4 teeth and 2 more that are almost in.
2. I don't have much hair, just like my mama when she was little. My Uncle Jim told me she didn't get hair until she was 7.

3. I'm kind of shy.

4. I am very laid back and even tempered.

5. I do the army crawl to get wherever I want to go.

6. I love looking at lights and when you ask me where the light is I look up at it.

7. I talk all the time although my mom and dad don't understand what I'm saying.

8. I can wave bye bye, but I don't associate it with those words. I just do it when I feel like it especially when pointing at that light.

9. I am working on standing up all by myself. My record time is 8 seconds.

2. I love apple juice and I'm learning how to drink it from a sippy cup.

4. I crawl everywhere and I'm really fast. My mom has trouble keeping up with me.

6. I have 2 teeth and a lot of hair compared to my brother. :-)

7. I love looking out the window and watching cars drive by. I even do this when I'm supposed to be napping. I think my mom and dad are going to have to move my crib away from the blinds.

9. I understand the word no and when my mom says no to me I start to cry.

10. My favorite toy is the remote control. My mom and dad tried to trick me and buy me a toy one, but I know the difference.

Bath Time

The boys LOVE bath time! We just switched to the big bath tub about a month ago and they hated it at first. I was really worried that we had waited to long to make the switch, but I think they just needed some time getting used to it. They love splashing the water and I usually have to change my clothes after I bathe them because I get soaked. :-) It reminds me of the wave pools that they have at the water parks.

Welcome to the world Carson!

Lacey and Matt had Baby Carson a couple of weeks ago. She is so cute! Congrats Lacey and Matt. I can't wait to see her again!

Jailbirds

I love these outfits the boys are wearing, but every time they wear them we laugh and say they look like jailbirds. We also have a big play yard that they play in sometimes so the outfits combined with the play yard, make them definitely look like little jailbirds.

I have posted the picture above 5 times and every time I do it turns sideways. I don't know what the deal is. It's not turned that way in my picture folder, but for some reason it turns when I post it here. Oh well!

Cameron's First Birthday!

We went to Cameron's first birthday party several weeks ago. The boys were still battling their ear infections, but they still had a good time. Things have been so busy for us we had not seen Jamie and Leanne in a while or Heather and Tory so it was so good to see everyone. Kelly and Michael came up for it too so the whole gang was there. Thanks for inviting us to your birthday party Cameron. We had so much fun!

Uncle Tre

Uncle Tre came to visit after Christmas. We had not seen him in a long time and it was the first time he had seen the boys. I got a picture of him and Fisher, but Davis already fallen asleep when he got there so he didn't get to play with him. Come back and visit again soon Uncle Tre!

Go Cocks! Go Dawgs!

We went over to my parents on New Year's Day to eat our traditional lunch of black-eyed peas and collared greens. We also watched the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs play football. Evan is a Georgia fan and I am a Gamecock fan so we compromised and the boys each pulled for a team.

Oyster Roast

Things have settled down slightly in our house now. Both of the boys are well now so I'm trying to catch up and post the events that have happened since Christmas.

The boys went to their first Oyster Roast to ring in the New Year. My dad got some fresh oysters from Charleston so we had a last minute oyster roast at their house. We had a few family and friends stop by to partake in the festivities. The boys aren't quite old enough to eat oysters so they weren't able to try any, but maybe in a few years they'll get to. :-)

Davis Update

The pediatrician said that he has done all that he can do for Davis's reflux so he has referred him to a GI doctor. He said they will mostly likely do a scope on him so we can find out exactly what's going on. The soonest they could see him was late March. We'll let you know how it goes.

Chaos

That word perfectly describes our life since Christmas. To all of you that follow my blog I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a while. I am hoping to be able to catch up this week and this weekend. Things have been extremely chaotic for us since Christmas. Davis has been not feeling well and has been extremely fussy. He was crying so much I started having flashbacks to when they were younger and both were screaming ALL day long. The doctor has diagnosed him with reflux and we have been trying to find a medicine that will work for him. Shortly after being diagnosed with reflux, both of the boys got really bad colds, which turned into ear infections so they were both put on antibiotics. After a week of being on the antibiotic Davis seemed to be feeling better, but Fisher was getting worse so I took him back to the doctor. We found out that the antibiotic didn't work so his previous ear infection had worsened and his other ear was now infected too. He was also diagnosed with a respiratory infection so they put him on steroids and told us to keep a close watch on his respirations. He is finally feeling better- thank goodness! The last time I was at the pediatrician's office I told them they just needed to set up a bed for us in the back. :-) I think over the past 2 weeks we've been to the doctor 4 or 5 times. We go back tomorrow for their 9 month checkup, an ear recheck, and to discuss Davis's reflux so I am hoping tomorrow will be our last visit for a while. Even though we've had several extremely chaotic weeks, I'm thankful that they have only been sick twice. That's pretty good for being 9 months old. I'll post more soon. Time for baths, bottles, and bed...
